Advancement Communication and Marketing at Ohio University

I am currently employed as the student videographer for Advancement Communication and Marketing at Ohio University. I am responsible for serving as a production assistant at video shoots in addition to shooting and editing video content for the OHIO Alumni Association, Ohio Today magazine and Ohio University Compass.

Stanley Planton, former director of Quinn Library at Ohio University Chillicothe, was a personal friend of Dan Brown, author of “The Da Vinci Code” series. Following Planton’s passing, Brown, along with Planton’s family created an endowment to help grow a rare book collection on religious tolerance at Quinn Library.

Students enrolled in Ohio University’s Fundamentals of Public Speaking classes learn how to persuade, inform, and pay-it-forward, thanks to a giving-centered assignment integrated into the course’s curriculum. The pay-it-forward speech assignment challenges students to go out into the community and perform three random acts of kindness, sparking a chain of goodwill across campus.

The shared OHIO experience binds the Bobcat family together. This message—affectionately hand-written and drawn—celebrates what connects us, what makes us each unique (from dinosaurs to VR), and how we all continue to make a difference for our Ohio University.

The 2017 Homecoming theme, “Back in the Mix, Back on the Bricks” celebrated the Marching 110’s 50th anniversary and the School of Music’s centennial. The weekend’s festivities drew more than 600 Marching 110 alumni back to the bricks, amplifying the familiar energy on campus as hundreds of Bobcats enjoyed the parade and football game with friends and family.

Gurgen (Greg) Hayrapetyan doesn’t just teach mathematical concepts by writing formulas on a chalkboard; he’s changing the way people think about the field through current cultural examples like zombies, Legos© and self-driving cars.

Jeffery Chaddock and his partner Mark Morrow committed 97 percent of their estate to charity in the region, including Zenner House, a historical home in Athens. In this video, Chaddock draws parallels between the creative nature of home and landscape design, and that of planning one’s legacy.

Ohio University’s On The Green weekend 2017 included Athens’ first food truck festival. The event featured nine food trucks, including Holy Guacamole, Hot Potato and the alumni-favorite Burrito Buggy. Take a look behind-the-scenes of these Athens staples and hear alumni reminisce about their past and present food truck favorites.

On The Green Weekend, Ohio University’s spring homecoming, gave alumni the chance to travel back to Athens for a weekend full of nostalgia and laughter. This year’s events included the Alumni Leaders Conference, Three-on-Three Alumni Basketball, Cruise-in at the Convo and Athens’ first food truck festival.

Celebrate Women is an annual event hosted on the Ohio University Lancaster Campus. This year’s conference theme was “The Power of You: Advocating for Women, Wellness and Work.” Its record-breaking 400 attendees heard from empowering speakers across many disciplines about advocating for change and taking action in the world today.

All roads led home– or, should I say, hOUme, during the 2016 Homecoming Weekend at Ohio University. This video recaps the weekend’s festivities while alumni reminisce on their favorite aspects of homecoming.

Over 260 people gathered in the Baker University Center Parking Lot to participate in The Guinness World Record’s largest cakewalk as part of Homecoming 2016. The event was sponsored by BobcaThon, a year-long fundraiser at OHIO that benefits the Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio.
